New wineries, new wines, and lots of happy wine-drinkers, were bubbling around the Charlottesville Pavilion last weekend. The Monticello Wine Trail asked if I could take some pretty shots of their festival, and the beautiful weather (and people) made my job easy.
I love that moment when a couple is walking back up the aisle, now wedded. They’ve just sealed it all up with a kiss. Their family and friends all cheering for them. All the anxiety and build up is over, and the fun of the reception (and marriage) is ahead of them. I hope everyone [...]
2nd Street Gallery brings in such an amazing spectrum of art to Charlottesville’s thriving art scene. From legends like Sally Mann, to local heros like Clay Witt, Director Steve Taylor does an amazing job of bringing in talent. Over the past few weeks I had a chance to photograph the gallery a few times surrounding [...]
Lindsay and Corbin are a pair of cool, Hollywood casting directors. They have such a caring, calm relationship, and an amazing shared sense of humor.Plus, they somehow pulled off such a cool wedding on a hot, hot day! Lindsay and Corbin Bronson – Wedding video from John Robinson on Vimeo.
Meghan and Thomas are some of the most genuine, fun-loving people you’ll meet. They had a perfect day for their wedding at her family’s farm in Afton, and I can only hope the sunny skies continue for them! Congrats you two!
Got the internet back just in time to post a shot from Jenna and Dan’s wedding yesterday! Such a loving and joyful pair, they were fun to be around.
Go pick up your copy of C-VILLE Weekly…My photo is on the cover (and some are inside the covers, too!)
I always enjoy working with C-VILLE Weekly, they send me on interesting assignments where I always end up learning new things and meeting good people. That definitely held true for my most recent feature with them on local Shamanism. For this piece, I met three fascinating women, learned some history, and even got to witness [...]
We took advantage of some warm(er) weather to do a shoot with the Forth Family (and their furry companions) over the holidays.
Romeo and Juliet have the most famous balcony scene, but I was also fortunate enough to capture some balcony love this past wedding season!
The beautiful Smith family photographed on a beautiful fall day on the UVA Lawn!
If I’m not careful, Kasra might steal all my clients! He was enamored with my camera during our shoot a few weeks ago, and this photo he took of his mother, Niloo, turned out pretty great!
I love working with the Shuman family. I had photographed Niloo and Matt a few months back on their tenth wedding anniversary. On this visit to Charlottesville, they renewed their vows. Their sons, Aria and Kasra, brought so much energy to this fun shoot on the UVA Lawn!
Had a great time photographing a pair of brothers and a pair of sisters this morning at UVA. I look forward to posting more from these family sessions. Have you had your family portraits yet?
I got a call last week asking me if I liked book stores. The answer was a resounding yes, so I got sent around to do portraits of three local book sellers. I really love getting assignments like this one from C-VILLE Weekly, as it allows me to dig deeper into the community and meet [...]
Watching the creation of this mandala was a study in making art. Skill that comes from process, repetition, and focus combined with creativity, collaboration, color, and vision. For these monks, art and spirituality go hand in hand. I was honored to be welcomed with open arms into their process. See the piece in C-VILLE Weekly [...]
Charlottesville was lucky to have a visit from the newly engaged Amanda and Collin. Congratulations! (On a side note, you may remember seeing Amanda’s twin sister, Pam, and her awesome family in a previous post.)
Niloo and Matt have been together for 16 years, and married for 10. They are a really relaxed, joyful couple, and they really made my Sunday!
